Thomas Rhett and Lauren met in first grade at Goodpasture Christian School in Madison, Tennessee. Growing up with their families’ lives closely intertwined, Thomas Rhett and Lauren became childhood best friends. They later went on to date, got engaged in 2011, and married in 2012. 

Soon after Thomas Rhett and Lauren got married, Thomas Rhett released his first album. Since his first album debuted, 17 of his songs have reached the #1 spot on the Country Airplay Charts. Some of his most popular songs include “Die a Happy Man”, “Marry Me”, and “Life Changes”.

Lauren Akins attended the University of Tennessee in Knoxville where she received a degree in nursing. Lauren is an author, podcaster, and philanthropist. She released her book Live in Love: Growing Together Through Life’s Changes in May of 2021. Lauren writes in this New York Times Best Seller what it takes to live in love, stay in love, and grow together.

Thomas Rhett and Lauren’s marriage has always been grounded in their faith. Living a life of faith is not always easy for the couple, and sometimes entails making scary decisions. One of those scary decisions was taking home their oldest daughter, Willa Gray, from Uganda. Lauren took Willa Gray home with her while Lauren was 7 months pregnant with their second daughter Ada James. Thomas Rhett and Lauren now have four daughters, having since welcomed Lennon Love and Lillie Carolina into their family. The couple exclaims that their daughters are their whole world and are trying to soak up every sweet moment of parenthood.
